Meet Our Board of Directors

Scituate Community Christmas is made up of a dedicated group of Scituate residents who volunteer their time, talents, and passion to ensure the organization’s mission is met. Our Board of Directors meet monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at the Susan Phippen House at 7pm with the exception of July, August and December.

PRESIDENT: KIM STEWART

Kim is a lifelong resident of Scituate and is married with an adult son, new grandson and a rescue dog, ‘Houston’. She is retired as an Animal Control Officer and served the Town of Scituate in this capacity for over 24 years. Her charity work includes: past Chairman of the Scituate Animal Shelter, Co-Chair of the Shelter’s Capital Campaign, current Board Member of SANDS (Scituate Alliance of Natural Disaster Services), Scituate CERT Team and Scituate Veteran’s Council. Kim was named Scituate’s Citizen of the Year in 2017, Massachusetts Animal Control Officer of the Year in 2017 and received the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women 2018 Unsung Heroines Award. Kim credits her sense of responsibility to give back by watching her mom give of herself, and later in life to her friend and mentor, Susan Phippen. 

vice PRESIDENT: JILL CUOMO

Jill makes her home here in Scituate with her husband, Rob. She is the longest active member of the Scituate Community Christmas Board of Directors having served on the original board back in 1990 after answering an ad in the local paper. Over the years, Jill has served on numerous committees within the organization and is an integral part of its continued success and growth. Jill is a professional photographer who also has a background in TV production and advertising design. She brings a unique balance to our board with her creative skillset.  Jill’s enthusiasm for Scituate Community Christmas is unmatched; she epitomizes what it means to make a difference and has made measurable impacts on those in need.

secretary: Suzanne O’brien

Suzanne resides in Scituate with her husband and three young children.  Suzanne is an attorney and has been practicing for almost 20 years, including more than 15 years as in-house counsel at a global company providing general advice and managing contracts.  Suzanne has volunteered her time and talents for many events and programs at her children’s schools and generally in the Scituate community. She brings to the organization her passion to make the world a better place as well as her enthusiasm and attention to detail.  In her spare time, Suzanne enjoys traveling, running, reading, and spending time with her family.

Treasurer: STEPHANIE LOEFFEL

Stephanie grew up in Scituate and returned to her hometown in 2015, with her husband, Maurice, to raise their three children. Stephanie has always loved the Scituate community and its supportive culture. Stephanie is a financial planner, with a background in corporate finance and consulting and enjoys sharing her time and skills with non-profit organizations. She is drawn to the work that Scituate Community Christmas does and is excited to support the organization in its mission. Prior to joining the Scituate Community Christmas board, Stephanie previously served as Board Treasurer and Board President of her local Girls on the Run chapter.  She is also passionate about volunteering at her children’s schools, and recently served as co-Secretary on the Gates School PTO. In her spare time, she enjoys playing tennis, running, and spending time with family & friends.

Paul Norton
Paul is a lifelong resident of Scituate and along with his wife, Cindia, has raised 4 boys. Paul is a Lieutenant with the Scituate Police Department and has a background in construction. Paul’s passion for serving the community drove him to join our team as our facilities manager for The Susan Phippen House. This is an important role as The House has become a well-known gathering place for numerous non-profits as well as the permanent home of Scituate Community Christmas. The board remains grateful for the time and talent Paul has shared with us to further our mission. In his spare time Paul enjoys playing hockey, working on his home, caring for his pets, and spending time with family.

Sarah Murray
Sarah Murray has lived in Scituate for nearly a decade with her husband Dennis and their three young children.  A seasoned PR professional with 20+ years of industry experience, Sarah is Partner and Co-Founder of Attune Communications, a PR and Communications firm.  Over the last decade, Sarah has actively volunteered within the local community offering her time to organizations including empowerHER and the Scituate Library Foundation, and has helped spearhead successful fundraising efforts for Jenkins Elementary School and Gates Middle School.  Sarah is honored to join the Scituate Community Christmas board and looks forward to helping raise broader awareness around the mission of SCC and its significant impact on the local community.  In her spare time, Sarah enjoys playing tennis, skiing and spending time with her friends & family. 

Emily Anderson
Emily Anderson has lived in Scituate for over 10 years with her husband, David, and their three children. Emily has a background in branding, product marketing, and design. She is the founder of Minton Interiors, an interior décor and design business. Emily has volunteered her time for a variety of nonprofit organizations including the Massachusetts Association of Mental Health, the Scituate Library Foundation and Run4Scituate, where she has focused on event planning. Emily brings a wide breadth of fundraising experience to Scituate Community Christmas and looks forward to focusing her efforts towards the growth of the organization. When not driving her three kids around Emily enjoys playing tennis, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.

Alison Sheerin

Alison Sheerin grew up in Southern New Hampshire but has called Scituate home with her family for the past 12 years.  Shortly after graduating from the University of New Hampshire, Alison spent her early career in healthcare advertising sales, living in Manhattan and working for health publisher WebMD.  She was responsible for planning, developing, and executing pharmaceutical media campaigns with the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and their ad agencies.  In 2011, she made the move from the big city to the south shore to start a family business of new construction home builds, renovations, investments and buying and selling real estate.  Alison has been a Realtor® since 2017 and has a passion for helping her clients make their house a home. When not at the office or meeting with clients, Alison enjoys watching her two kids sporting events, going on walks with her friends, and spending summer days at the beach in Minot.
