Our Community Impact programs support dedicated groups of local residents - from veterans to first responders, teachers to the elderly - and serves as a reminder of our collective gratitude for their service, dedication to our community and/or remind them they are not alone. These programs are successful as a result of many volunteers, Neighborhood Ambassadors, in-kind donations from individuals and businesses, plus the financial support from our donors and grants awarded. Thank you for being a part of our story!
Our Valentine’s Day program aims to warm the hearts of residents of assisted living facilities within Scituate. Handmade valentines are created thanks to our elementary aged volunteers, and delivered to residents along with sweet treats for staff and resident common areas.
A unique initiative that recognizes senior residents in Scituate with a thoughtful and useful gift personally delivered. This program engages our Neighborhood Ambassadors to collect and sort items, help assemble the packages and deliver them to recipients.
SCC hosts an annual barbecue to show gratitude for the hard-working police officers, fire fighters, and public safety dispatchers who protect and serve our community, and fuel them for one of their busiest nights of the year.
Our annual Veteran’s Day recognition initiative where we send a card to all local veterans and partner with other local organizations to support and celebrate each of the valued veterans living in our town.
Each year, Scituate Community Christmas turns the tables and GIVES BACK to a deserving group in the community. From postal workers to school cafeteria servers, to employees of local pharmacies, we find a way to acknowledge those in our community who are unsung heroes!
Our founder, Susan Phippen left a legacy of giving back in simple ways that can make a big difference. She sought to ensure that all in our community feel seen and cared for, especially those who may have had a challenging year. In her honor we continue The Susan Phippen Give, delivering gifts to several members of our community during the holiday season to spread some extra kindness and cheer.
