OFFICIAL RULES

OFFICIAL RULES: The following are the official rules ("Official Rules") of the 2026 Scituate Community Christmas Luau Raffle (the "Raffle”). 

THE PRIZE: The winner may apply the $10,000 travel voucher toward any travel arrangements available through Scituate Harbor Travel (SHT), with no restrictions on destination or travel type. All fees, commissions, and service charges of SHT shall be included within the $10,000 Escrow Funds. The Winner shall have twelve (12) months from the drawing date of July 25, 2026, through and including July 25, 2027 to book travel through SHT using the escrowed funds. All travel must be booked on or before the expiration of the Redemption Window, though the travel itself may occur after that date. All travel booked through SHT is subject to SHTs standard booking policies and procedures, including its cancellation, rebooking, and refund policies. It is the sole responsibility of the winner to obtain suitable travel insurance to protect against cancellations, interruptions, or other losses. Neither Scituate Community Christmas nor SHT shall be liable for any losses arising from the winners failure to obtain travel insurance.

ELIGIBILITY TO ENTER: In accordance with these Official Rules, ALL PARTICIPANTS MUST BE 18 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER AT THE TIME OF TICKET PURCHASE, to be entered into the Raffle. In addition, raffle tickets purchased online are limited to persons located within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the time of purchase. Raffle tickets may not be transferred to ineligible parties. This Raffle is void where prohibited by law.

TICKET PRICES: Tickets are $50 each.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE: You may enter the Raffle in two ways: online (visit: www.scituatecommunitychristmas.org) or by purchasing a ticket in person.

ENTRY DEADLINE: All entries must be received by 4:59 pm on July 24th to be included in the drawings. SELECTION OF WINNER: One drawing will be held on July 25th, 2026. Winner will be published on our website and publicized via social media during the following week. Winner will be notified by phone or email and listed on our website. Both paper and electronic entries will be transferred to the Raffle with equal chances of winning. ODDS OF WINNING: The odds of winning a prize depends upon the total number of raffle tickets sold. There is no limit on the total number of tickets that will be sold for this Raffle. ONLINE RAFFLE ENTRIES: Online raffle entries require an electronic signature, age verification, location verification, and restrictions on transferability of tickets. By selecting "Register" and typing your electronic signature (which is equivalent to your written signature) the purchaser of a ticket is attesting that he/she is: (a) 18 years of age or older; (b) physically located within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the time of purchase; (c) affixing his/her electronic signature to the order form; (d) certifying that he/she has read and agrees to the Official Rules of this Raffle; (e) agreeing to not transfer the ticket to ineligible parties; and (f) upon acceptance of the order, the purchaser's electronic signature will also be electronically affixed to the raffle ticket as may be required in certain circumstances by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

MINIMUM TICKET THRESHOLD/CANCELLATION: A minimum of 200 tickets must be sold. If the minimum is not reached by the entry deadline, the Raffle will be cancelled and all ticket purchasers will receive a full refund within 30 days. 

NO PURCHASE REQUIRED: There is no purchase required to enter the Raffle. Single ticket entries will be permitted by mail request only as outlined in the mailer. Limit one entry per household without a purchase. A purchase is required for online orders. Tax deductible donations in any amount may be submitted online in addition to or in lieu of purchasing raffle chances. INELIGIBLE PARTIES: The following parties are ineligible to participate in the Raffle and shall not be entitled to collect a prize of any kind: (a) Board Members of Scituate Community Christmas and their immediate family members; (b) any person under the age of 18; (c) any person completing an online purchase of raffle tickets who is located outside of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts at the time of purchase. Should Scituate Community Christmas, in its sole discretion, determine that a raffle ticket has been purchased by, or transferred to, an Ineligible Party, the purchase shall be void, the entry removed from the Raffle, and the purchaser will not be entitled to a refund. TAXES: The Internal Revenue Service takes the position that no portion of the ticket price will qualify as a charitable contribution for income tax purposes. Moreover, the Internal Revenue Service and the MA Department of Revenue, the jurisdiction in which this Raffle is being conducted, treat the value of prizes won in a raffle as ordinary income for tax purposes. Any taxes that may be due are the sole responsibility of the winner. Please consult with your tax advisor to determine what your personal tax liability would be should you win the Raffle.
