HOW TO ADOPT A FAMILY
Through The Big Give, Scituate Community Christmas supports more than 170 local children each year at Christmas time and we couldn't do it without your support! Each year, we hear from many families in our community who are facing tough times whether due to a sudden illness, the loss of a loved one, or an unexpected job loss. In moments like these, SCC steps in with your help to serve as a vital bridge for our neighbors facing temporary hardship. Together, we can bring hope and joy to children who might otherwise go without this Christmas.
If you would like to adopt a family this holiday season, please fill out the following form no later than Dec 14th and we will reach out to you soon with a family assignment!
You will be given a due date upon signing up. Please note that due dates will be staggered based on the date of your assignment with a 1-2 week turnaround. As it gets closer to Christmas, the timing will be accelerated so that we can accommodate families as we have limited space at the house and more and more families asking for help each day.

DROP OFF LOCATION
DROP OFFS: Please drop off your new, unwrapped item(s) to The Christmas Cottage at The Susan Phippen House, 125 Mann Lot Rd. Our secure facilities are open 24/7 for your convenience. Volunteers will collect donations on an ongoing basis during the peak of the holiday season. We appreciate knowing when you have donated items!
It’s very important that all boxes/bags with your Adopt a Family items are very clearly labeled with your name and the family ID to ensure these gifts get to the right families. We will have labels and bins for you to place your donation/s in.
GIFT CARD DROP OFF: If your donation includes gift cards please put them in a clearly marked envelope with your name, the family ID and the value of each gift card included and place in the bin you’ve labeled with your other gifts.
Please fill out our in-kind donation form for your tax purposes.
PLEASE MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO DROP OFF YOUR GIFTS BY THE ASSIGNED DUE DATE but the sooner, the better, as our elves are busy!
Remember, you’re shopping for a few children you don’t know but we’re doing this for hundreds!
