Year-Round Giving

#SCC365: Welcome to our giving community

We meet the needs of our community at Christmastime and throughout the year by supporting families during times of hardship while inspiring the values of kindness, compassion, philanthropy and volunteerism.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE We are so grateful for the incredible support of our local volunteers and businesses who have chosen to partner in meaningful ways. The "Green Thumb Day" held this past summer was led by Chris Kennedy at Kennedy's Country Gardens. Additionally, sponsors of Scituate Community Christmas include Birchbarn Designs, Good Sport in Cohasset, the Scituate Police Relief Association, Fastlinks, Suddenly Simple Events, Something Borrowed Antiques, the Borrowed Board, Anderson Fuel, The Knights of Columbus, and Aubuchon Hardware.

Happening in September! Our town is filled with community heroes... many of them who work quietly and tirelessly to help others. The Community Hero Project is sponsored by Scituate Community Christmas and each year selects a group or individuals that deserve to be recognized in a unique and compassionate way. This initiative typically unites our youngest volunteers with our most respected community citizens. In 2019, we have selected Scituate Veterans for the Community Hero Project. In observance of Veterans Day which is intended to honor and thank all military personnel who served the United States, over 800 handmade cards will be mailed this fall to those who have served our country. Please join us as we say, "Thank you for your service," to our Scituate Veterans. If you would like to volunteer and organize a group of children (4th grade and up) to help with this project please sign up below.

Welcome back to school! Zeke and Axel (pictured above) helped collect school supplies this summer as West End Neighborhood Ambassadors. When we asked them about helping Community Christmas, the boys said, "... the people we help can be our friends... I like knowing they are happy and it makes their life easier." They were equally enthusiastic about their return to school and told us they were excited for, "Seeing all my friends, seeing my classroom, meeting my teacher... I love everything about school! I love the surprise of seeing my new teacher!"

Cornhole a Huge Success! The 1st Annual Susan Phippen Cornhole Tournament was a huge success! With sunny skies, a light breeze, and enthusiastic spectators, we celebrated the winning team, “Who’s Next” and the runner-up team, “Wampatuck Dads”. Overall the event raised funds to support the year-round giving mission of Scituate Community Christmas. Special thanks to the winning players who donated their earnings back after claiming the championship and second place! We invite you to check out the photo gallery !
