Helping Friends + Neighbors

Over the past few months, our intake team has been hard at work helping to meet the immediate needs of our friends and neighbors. Thanks to your generosity, here’s a glimpse of the difference we made together:

•We helped an elderly resident experiencing homelessness transition into public housing, ensuring they had a safe home and the essentials needed to start fresh.

•We assisted a single father facing financial hardship by covering critical vehicle repairs ensuring he could continue to get to work and care for his family.

•We helped a child participate in a school enrichment experience, creating an opportunity for the student to learn, grow, and simply feel like every other kid.

•Through our Acts of Kindness program, we had the privilege of delivering thoughtful gifts to friends grieving the loss of loved ones, encouraging those facing injuries and illnesses, and celebrating a very special volunteer on the arrival of her third baby!  

We are grateful to serve as a vital bridge for neighbors experiencing temporary hardship. Your generosity makes these acts of compassion possible.  Thank you for being part of our story.

Announcing the 2026 Recipients of the Scituate Community Christmas Scholarship!

We are proud to announce the 2026 recipients of the inaugural Scituate Community Christmas Scholarship: Emma Chisolm and Katie Long. 

The SCC Scholarship is awarded to graduating seniors who embody the legacy of our founder Susan Phippen. These special students have demonstrated a commitment to community service and dedication to the pillars of the organization--kindness, generosity and compassion.

SPREADING SUNSHINE

We had so much fun Spreading Sunshine last month to the wonderful residents of Scituate's public housing.  

This year, each resident received an adorable Rustic Marlin twine sign, helping to beautify each unit’s front door.  Many thanks to Carol Mitchell for spearheading this event with the help of many Seaside at Scituate residents!  We are grateful to the countless volunteers who help make programs like these a huge success.   

We also sincerely appreciate local community-minded companies like Rustic Marlin that are willing to partner with us and support our mission.

CONGRATS, CLASS OF 2026!

Scituate Community Christmas was proud to once again sponsor The All Night Party and cover the costs of tickets for Scituate High School seniors who may not have been able to attend otherwise. This annual event, which helps keep kids safe and together on graduation night, was a huge success.

We wish ALL the members of our community who are graduating high school this year --whether you attend Scituate High School or live in Scituate and commute to another school--a heartfelt congratulations. Best of luck on your future paths, class of ‘26!

Adopt a Grad

We’re proud to celebrate the amazing high school graduates in our community who are headed to college this fall and want to make sure they start this new chapter set up for success. That’s where you come in!!  By participating in our annual Adopt a Grad program,  you will be helping one of these students take a confident step into their future. 

If you would like to Adopt a Grad, please do so no later than July 30th.

Together, we can make a real difference in these students’ lives as they spread their wings and head off to college!
