Helping Friends + Neighbors
Over the past few months, our intake team has been hard at work helping to meet the immediate needs of our friends and neighbors. Thanks to your generosity, here’s a glimpse of the difference we made together:
We've helped 40 students (and requests are still rolling in) with items including backpacks, school supplies, clothing and shoes.
We provided local grads with dorm supplies and more to help them prepare for college.
We purchased a new bed for an elderly resident returning home from the hospital, ensuring their comfort and safety.
We covered a teen's driving school expenses, helping them take an important step toward independence.
Through our Acts of Kindness program, we delivered thoughtful gifts to friends grieving the loss of loved ones and supported those facing illnesses.
We are grateful to serve as a vital bridge for neighbors experiencing temporary hardship. Your generosity makes these acts of compassion possible. Thank you for being part of our story.

THANK YOU to our community for making our Deck the Palms summer fundraiser the most successful ever in SCC history. Your generosity is instrumental in helping us fulfill our mission and help even more friends and neighbors who are suffering hardship.
We appreciate everyone who supported the event including our sponsors, those who attended the luau, bid on auction items, donated items for the auction and gift grab, bought raffle tickets, volunteered their time and supported us in countless ways. We truly could not do this important work without you.
And a very special thank you to Joby Norton and the hard working staff at Mullaney’s Fish Market for hosting our event. It was a beautiful evening to celebrate our beloved community and collectively demonstrate support of our mission and Susan Phippen’s vision to make SCC a cornerstone of giving in Scituate.
supporting our first responders
As part of our Community Impact Program, we were proud to once again provide dinner for Scituate’s Police and Fire Departments before their shifts on the 3rd and 4th of July- two of the busiest nights of the year in our community. Thank you to Miss Emily Food Truck and Knead Bakery for helping us show our appreciation for all they do to keep our community safe!
In support of Scituate Firefighter Hanley who is bravely battling cancer, SCC is also proud to sponsor the Scituate Local 1464 IAFF Cornhole Fundraiser on September 19th. A veteran, firefighter and father, Keith has dedicated his life to serving others. SCC is proud to offer our support as Keith and his family navigate this difficult time.
ADOPT A GRAD
We asked and once again you delivered! Thank you to the incredible donors who participated in our Adopt a Grad program this year. With your generous support, we equipped SHS grads in need of laptops, dorm essentials and more, helping to set them up for success in their next chapter in life. Best of luck to all the college students headed back to school this fall!
volunteer SPOTLIGHT: MEET KAITY CIMO
We are thrilled to introduce new SCC volunteer Kaity Cimo. A mom of two and marketer by trade, Kaity is helping our Marketing Committee build awareness of our mission and meaningfully engage with our beloved community. With a background in brand building and social media, Kaity was excited about the opportunity to use the skills she’s honed throughout her career to support SCC.

GRANTS CORNER
We are thrilled to announce that we were recently awarded a $2,600 grant from South Shore Women Gather for Good. Thank you for your generosity, for the confidence you’ve shown in our organization and the work we do in our community. Thank you also to our grant committee members, Becky, Sally, and Sadie, for their commitment and hard work in securing crucial funding for SCC.
